Achievements
Since its formation, ATP is working for the development of arunthathiyar community. Today, ATP has grown into an organization that strives to bring forth the struggles of arunthathiyar community. ATP is working in the midst of the people with branches spread across in various villages and town of Tamil Nadu. Its significant achievements to date are:

Untouchability still prevails against Arunthathiyars. For the past 15 years since its formation, ATP has raised its flag against untouchability on various instances and incidences in Tamil Nadu. A few of the recent ones are
Protest against refusal of marriage hall for Arunthathiyar in Nambiyur: (Marriage Hall demolition protest): 22nd January 2008
A marriage hall in Nambiyur, Tamil Nadu was requested by an Arunthathiyar for a family function. The marriage hall was refused as he was a dalit. A police complaint was lodged against the manager of the marriage hall. A case was registered against eight people. The business clout of the people concerned resisted an action against the complaint. To protest the high handedness, ATP announced a demolition protest of the marriage hall on 22nd January 2008. 71 people were arrested including 21 women who tried to take part in the protest. Everyone was released in the evening.

Petition against double tumbler practice in Thenkasi, Thirunelveli district: 28th April 2008
Double tumbler system is a practice of untouchability against dalits. In a village in Thenkasi, (Ayyapuram village) of Thirunelveli district in Tamil Nadu, there remains a double tumbler system; where Arunthathiyars are given separate tumblers in tea stalls and are prohibited from seating in benches which are meant to upper caste in the village. ATP has taken up the issue to the government against this practice of untouchability, by carrying out a demonstration in front of the collectorate and has submitted a petition.

Protest against saloon boycott to Arunthathiyars in Karur District:
A ban was imposed in Ammapati village, Karur of Erode district, Tamil Nadu against hair cut to Arunthathiyars. When the ban was questioned by the community, they were attacked and beaten by upper caste in the village. ATP organized a protest against the attack and demanding action against the perpetrators in front of Karur Taluk office.
